From the WBEZ Blog:
So, we’re trying something new this week on WBEZ. We’re testing out a show on our air and asking you to share your thoughts on it.
Here’s the deal: our friends “up north” at the CBC have a show they think we Americans will love. It’s called “Q“. No, it’s not a call in show with James Bond’s late gadget guru. Rather, it’s a daily arts and culture interview program hosted by Jian Ghomeshi.
Each episode features the well-prepared and conversational Jian interviewing guests like Leonard Cohen, Lily Allen, Woody Allen, Radiohead and Salman Rushdie. You may know “Q” already from their popular podcasts – or from Jian’s infamous interview with the cantankerous Billy Bob Thornton which ignited a flurry of views on You Tube last year. His first guest today: Adam Lambert of American Idol fame. (OK, so you can’t win them all, but you get the idea…)
Anyway, the program has become a huge hit for the CBC, so much so that it’s now the most-listened-to cultural affairs program in the nation.
