Sunday's column on WBBM-Ch. 2's preparations to begin moving into new digs next month led numerous readers to complain the CBS-owned station would be smarter to spend its money improving its ineffective over-the-air digital signal.

Tom Schnecke, Channel 2's vice president of broadcast operations and engineering, said the digital broadcast problems almost certainly will vanish in February when the Federal Communications Commission has granted WBBM permission to double the power of its transmissions.

So "CSI" won't be DOA at your house.
