Joanie Lum, former reporter for CBS 2, has been officially hired by Fox Chicago News as of today. She will work as a reporter for "Good Day Chicago" beginning April 19th.
Lum is a television news veteran, with most of her career being here in Chicago. From October 2003 through April 2009, she was a reporter for WBBM-TV, before being cut in a major layoff spree. Prior, she worked at WGN-TV for 16 years. She previously worked Rockford's WREX-TV.
Word of Lum's possible hire was first reported by Phil Rosenthal last week. This move reunites Lum with WFLD News Director Carol Fowler, who she worked with at both WBBM & WGN.
