There is a new syndicated radio show that is about to make its debut right here in Chicago. The show is Cafe Mocha, a new music/talk hybrid show, targeting African-American women. The two-hour show is coming to WSRB-FM, Chicago's Soul 106.3 in just a few days. It will be a mix of urban music and lively chats from a completely female perspective, that will include some no-holds barred advice and exclusive interviews with top performers, celebrities, politicians & civic leaders.
Cafe Mocha will star Grammy-winning Hip-Hop star MC Lyte and popular comedienne Loni Love (from "Chelsea Lately"). Joining Lyte and Love as the third co-host of the show is LA radio veteran Angelique Perrin, who will act as the proverbial voice of reason.
Among the special correspondents and contributors who will join the trio are Chicago's own Michelle Hammon, Emmy-Award winning author and motivational speaker; and Dr. Rachael Ross, licensed MD and clinically approved sexologist.
Cafe Mocha is being designed to "empower and entertain" women of color everywhere. The show aims to offer a fresh, engaging & upbeat dialogue with a musical playlist featuring the best in urban hits.
Although it is not 100% active just yet, Cafe Mocha is planning on having a highly-interactive website, done in collaboration with Essense.com, that will feature the latest integration of the social media tools, including Facebook and Twitter and the Cafe Mocha Text Club. Currently, the site is still under construction, but does offer a long audio sample of the show. You can visit the new website at CafeMochaRadio.com.
Also coming soon to Soul 106.3 will be a key advertising element for Cafe Mocha, the daily "Mocha Minute," a one-minute feature designed to both empower audience and drive listeners to the weekend show. It will also provide Crawford Broadcasting with a daily spot for a customized product placement.
The show is making its national debut right here in Chicago this weekend. Cafe Mocha will premiere on WSRB-FM/Soul 106.3 on this Saturday, from 7:00am-9:00am, immediately preceding The Tom Joyner Weekend Show, "Right Back At You." It will air each Saturday at the same time slot.
The only other city to have the show currently is Washington, DC, although it is expected to be syndicated nationwide within a few months.
