The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (often referred to as the Chicago Emmys) will be holding their annual Silver Circle Honors gala in just two weeks. The Chicago Silver Circle Awards honor individuals who have have made a significant & outstanding contribution to Chicago television and have spent at least 25 years doing so. This year, The Chicago/Midwest chapter of NATAS will be inducting seven deserving individuals.
The 2010 Chicago Silver Circle Honorees are:
Jim Corno - Comcast SportsNet Chicago President
V.J. McAleer - Senior Vice President of Production, WTTW-TV
Don Moseley - Producer for Carol Marin's Marin Corp Productions
Art Norman - General Assignment Reporter for WMAQ-TV (now retired)
Steve Sanders - Anchor/Reporter, WGN-TV
Leda Santodomingo - Anchor/Reporter, Telemundo
Pam Zekman - Investigative Reporter, WBBM-TV
The host for the special event that evening will be Robin Robinson, the longtime news anchor for WFLD-TV, and herself a 2009 Silver Circle honoree.
There is also an impressive list of award presenters this year: John Roach for Jim Corno, Phil Ponce for V.J. McAleer, Carol Marin for Don Moseley, Dr. Ian Smith for Art Norman, Allison Payne for Steve Sanders, David Cordova for Leda Santodomingo, and Walter Jacobson for Pam Zekman.
The dinner & ceremony where the seven inductees will each be honored will be on Friday, May 7th at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago (163 East Walton, Chicago). Cocktails begin at 5:30pm, with the dinner beginning at 6:30pm.
