What's going on with former Chicago radio personality Sludge? For the last four years, he has been the star personality on Richmond, VA's WDYL-FM/Y101.
Late last week, all of the station's jocks were taken off the air -- even their syndicated morning show. The station is now playing rock music, but completely jockless. Y101's website is basically an advertisement asking people to listen to a different station -- one owned by the same company (Cox) that recently flipped to a Hot AC/AAA hybrid. Y101 is expected to flip to a new format, probably as soon as this weekend. This does not mean a return to Chicago for Sludge, though. Even with all this turmoil going on, Sludge is not unemployed. He is still part of the Cox family and is expected to be part of the company's planned changes there.
