: Courtesy of Phil Rosenthal at the Chicago Tribune: : : "Meek shall inherit Tribune Co. revenue role : Don Meek today was named executive vice president/chief revenue officer for Chicago Tribune parent Tribune Co.'s publishing and interactive divisions, effective immediately. : Meek had been president/national media sales for Tribune Co.'s interactive and publishing since January 2009, and joined the company's Los Angeles Times as president/integrated media in mid-2008. : His new job makes him responsible for development and execution of publishing and interactive sales strategies with an eye on marketing capabilities and revenue management. : : “Don’s experience at Tribune and his knowledge of the sales and marketing industry make him the right choice to lead our sales force and grow sales across media platforms,” Gerry Spector, Tribune Co. chief operating office, said in the announcement. “He’s the guy who sees the revenue before it sees us.” : Meek said he was "fired up" with his expanded role. : Ed Wilson, who had been Tribune Co.'s chief revenue officer and president of Tribune Broadcasting, stepped down from those positions last month. Of Meek, Wilson said last year, "Not only is Don tremendously talented and experienced, he understands sales and marketing and is focused intently on meeting the needs of our advertisers." : John Hendricks, Tribune Broadcasting's executive vice president/interactive and broadcast sales, will continue to do for that division with regard to revenue strategies what Meek will do for its publishing and interactive divisions. : Meek's wide-ranging resume includes previous stints at Sony Pictures Entertainment,Fox Sports Net and CBS Los Angeles outlets KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV."
