DOUG BANKS, syndicated host of ABC RADIO NETWORK's "THE RIDE WITH DOUG & DE DE," will receive the TRAIL BLAZER AWARD for outstanding achievements in radio this weekend in ORLANDO. BANKS is being recognized by 100 BLACK MEN of AMERICA INC. for his contributions in the radio industry. The occasion is the organization's 22nd annual leadership conference. He is the award's first recipient.
"I'm honored to be recognized by 100 BLACK MEN as a trail blazer," said BANKS. "When I first began working in radio, I hoped that I might one day be part of establishing a path for others to reach their dreams in broadcasting. I'm so proud that our show lived up to that standard by reaching listeners across the country everyday and having a positive impact."
The 100 BLACK MEN was founded in 1963 in NEW YORK as a national alliance of leading African-American men. Today, under the direction of ALBERT E. DOTSON, JR., the organization creates programs to uplift and support the African-American community with 106 chapters spanning AMERICA and the CARIBBEAN.
