For decades, I had long thought of Gamble as The Great Dismantler. He could take apart any station with relative ease.

Even after prior assessment, I lost my mind (nobody's perfect) and interviewed with him for what I believed was promising.

During the interview (I ask questions, too) he danced and danced and danced. He didn't have flow, and he couldn't keep the beat. Inspired productivity wasn't on the menu, and that's what I had a taste for. (For those of you who have been fortunate enough to be a part of something very special, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, I hope someday that you do so that you can pass that kind of thinking forward.)

It was like finding a house that you initially fall in love with, and as you take the tour, the front door falls off, the toilet overflows, the kitchen smells like it's had a bad fire and you find out that the neighbors are outside, loud and drunk all the time. All in the span of 45 minutes.

:shaking head wistfully:

Glad I stayed put.

Radio's just sooooo wacky sometimes...
