For the second time this year, Crain's Chicago Business has done a write-up on Tribune Company's President of Programming of Tribune Broadcasting, Sean Compton.
The first time was in early August, where Compton talked proudly about his pet project, a TV show starring the ever-controversial radio political shock jock Bill Cunningham. The second time comes today, as Compton is considered as on of Crain's 40 Under 40 - Class of 2010.
As with his August write-up, the writer, Crain's Lynne Marek, talks about Compton's longtime love of radio and how he worked his way up the ranks at Jacor and Clear Channel. After his mentor, Randy Michaels took over at Tribune Company, Compton was put in charge of television programming despite having no previous experience with it. Both articles found an old Clear Channel Radio friend of Compton's, who does not work in television, to give a favorable review to his work so far with Tribune Broadcasting, complimenting Compton on his ability to pick which reruns to air.
