"Soul Train," the syndicated urban dance show that got started at Channel 26 in 1969, is getting back on track.

Two years after creator and original host Don Cornelius ceased production of new episodes, MadVision Entertainment has acquired the "Soul Train" franchise.

The New York Times reported on plans to "open up the show's archives for older consumers [and] create a new version of the program for younger ones."

Terms of the sale by Cornelius were not disclosed.
