Adamle defends himself against DUI charge

Mike Adamle's attorney, Dean Dickie, issued a statement saying his client is innocent following a DUI arrest in Evanston last Tuesday. Mr. Dickie said Mr. Adamle passed the Breathalyzer test.

Mr. Dickie said: "Mr. Adamle believes himself to be innocent of any wrongdoing and reiterates that at no time was he impaired by alcohol or otherwise such that he was unable to operate an automobile in a safe, lawful manner."

Mr. Adamle, 61, was arrested after running a red light in Evanston. The Tribune reported his blood-alcohol level was 0.04.

Mr. Adamle continued to work his regular Friday-through-Sunday shift, handling the sports report for WMAQ-TV/Channel 5.
