he's since exited WLUM and gone to work part-time for "The Hog" (formerly Lazer 103 to anyone familiar with the Milwaukee market)
: WLUM Hires Stephen Kallao For APD/Afternoons
: MILWAUKEE RADIO ALLIANCE Alternative WLUM (FM 102/1)/MILWAUKEE names STEPHEN KALLAO as APD/PM drive, effective JULY 14th. KALLAO replaces APD/middayer CHRIS CALEF, who resigned to pursue an MBA degree from the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN.
: KALLAO was last doing nights/imaging at FINEST CITY BROADCASTING Alternative XTRA-F (91X)/SAN DIEGO. His Alternative resume includes KFMA/TUCSON, KNRK/PORTLAND and KQXR/BOISE. KALLAO and WLUM PD JACENT JACKSON worked together at KQXR and posted some of the highest shares nationally in the Alternative format.
: JACKSON commented, "I love KALLAO's use of hyperbole. He also really completes the puzzle here at FM 102/1 and we are now poised to become one of the most successful stations in the format. Coincidentally, because of the land available surrounding our studios, we will also be able to sell high quality, soft and silky ALPACA rugs. We're pleased that our suburban studio location in MENOMONEE FALLS has helped us to land such a talent."
: "I am coming to WLUM to renew my faith in radio." stated KALLAO. "It will be fun and will require much less overhead than starting an ALPACA farm."
: Meanwhile, JACKSON will shift from PM drive to middays.
