It was nearly three hours before the start of Game 2 Wednesday, and Chuck Swirsky already had been at the United Center for two hours.

Mr. Swirsky is a confessed basketball junkie. He can't get enough games.

NBA playoff basketball takes his passion to an entirely new level. As the Bulls radio play-by-play announcer for WMVP-AM/1000 surveyed an empty arena, knowing it would fill shortly with screaming fans, he had yet another validation of his decision to return to Chicago.

"This is everything I thought it would be," Mr. Swirsky said.
