: Merlin Media To Assume Control At WRXP/New York And Q101/Chicago Later This Week : : Will The Plug Will Be Pulled Thursday Or Friday? : Sources have confirmed to ALL ACCESS that THURSDAY, JULY 14th will be the last day for several employees of EMMIS Alternative WRXP/NEW YORK and sister Alternative WKQX (Q101)/CHICAGO, as MERLIN MEDIA officially takes over the stations. : While there's a chance that at least some of the current staffers will be offered positions with MERLIN, the information given to RXP and Q101 staffers TODAY (7/11), indicate that MERLIN will assume programming and sales control of the stations on FRIDAY, JULY 15th. : Whether MERLIN will flip formats that day is unknown. : What's more, rumors have it that MERLIN personnel are rebuilding news studios for the stations as we speak, and expect to have them ready at that time. : On The Beach in Chicago : It is now known that Q101 full-time air staff will exit on THURSDAY.
