: WBEZ programmer exits : Ron Jones resigned Wednesday after six years as vice president of programming at Chicago Public Radio WBEZ-FM (91.5). : "It's time now for me to embark on a new adventure, with my eyes and mind wide open to the possibilities," he told staffers in a memo. : Jones came from WGBH-FM in Boston, where he had been program director. : Torey Malatia, president and general manager of Chicago Public Radio, called him "a superbly competent, ideal colleague." : Malatia, who preceded Jones in the role, will oversee programming at the station once again. He'll be assisted by Steve Edwards, who's back from a Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellowship at the University of Michigan July 7 and assuming the title of acting program director. : : (Feder)
