The horrible new WGNRadio.com reports:
'Jonathon Brandmeier broadcasts live from The Summit of Uptown, 10 North Summit Avenue, Park Ridge, IL 60068 on Friday, February 17th from
5:30-9:00 a.m.! Doors open at 5:15 a.m. The broadcast is free and open to the public, but space is limited and admission will be on a
first-come, first-served basis. Parking is available in the city lot directly across the street on Summit Avenue. Also, 90 minute parking is
available next to the north side of the building.
WGN Radio morning man Jonathon Brandmeier will take his show on the road on Friday, Feb. 17 as the WGN Radio Hometown Voices Tour presented by
Allstate visits northwest suburban Park Ridge. From 5:30 to 9 a.m., Brandmeier will broadcast live from The Summit of Uptown retirement
community located at 10 North Summit Avenue in the heart of Park Ridge.
Brandmeier solicited listener suggestions for a broadcast venue earlier this month and received hundreds of suggestions ranging from the
Pickwick Theater to a local flower shop to the funeral home where scenes from the movie Blues Brothers were filmed. However, it was The Summit
of Uptown that caught Brandmeier’s attention after an on-air call with the community’s receptionist who said that the residents don’t get many
visitors, but love having them.
“I know it sounds weird -- Brandmeier broadcasting from a retirement community? -- but that’s what I wanted to do, something unexpected and
interesting,” said Brandmeier. “My intention is to bring a fun, entertaining show to all of my listeners, plus the residents of The Summit at
Uptown -- many of whom don’t get many visitors. I’m envisioning this as a traveling vaudeville show for the residents!”'
