A tip of the hat to Mike James, surly editor of NewsBlues .com, for pointing out some astonishing changes to Diann Burns' entry in Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia.
The ex-Chicago news anchor's profile has been edited 59 times since October 2006 -- including 17 revisions in the last three months alone. "[It] now reads like a mean-spirited personal vendetta," NewsBlues reported.
All references to Burns' firing in a cost-cutting move in March at CBS-owned WBBM-Channel 2 have been stricken from the profile.
The effusive entry calls Burns "Chicago's best-known, most-loved and highest paid TV news personality."
The person responsible for the editing was not identified.
