Condolences to veteran radio talk host DAN DEIBERT on the passing of his father WES DEIBERT WEDNESDAY morning (5/9).
The elder DEIBERT, a former policeman, security guard, toll collector, and animal control officer who appeared on SPIKE O'DELL's radio show at KIIK and WOC-A/DAVENPORT, IA when O'DELL was working in the QUAD CITIES market before moving to TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO, battled ALS for several years, working throughout to raise funds for the MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION and writing about dealing with the disease.
Wes Deibert also worked with popular local host MIKE KENNEALLY on WLLR-FM after Kenneally left WRXR-F/Chicago.
His son has hosted at CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WISN-A/MILWAUKEE, MID-WEST FAMILY Talk WTDY-A/MADISON, and WGN.
