Spanish Broadcasting System has named veteran Chicago radio executive Terry Hardin vice president and general manager of WLEY-FM (107.9), the regional Mexican station known as "La Ley." He succeeds Jeff Shrinsky, who left in September.
Hardin's resume include top posts at Clear Channel Radio's adult contemporary WLIT and smooth jazz WNUA. He also was vice president and general manager of ex-talk WCKG until he resigned voluntarily last year.
" 'La Ley' has a great heritage as the market's first regional Mexican station, and I hope to build on its strengths after 10 years as live, local and deeply committed to the community," Hardin said.
His first job will be to replace program chief Marylu Ramos, who also left in September. Morning personality Jesus "El Peladillo" Garcia has been serving as interim program director.
