What irritated me about the article is the bash at WGN for hiring "outsiders." Chicago has a problem with recycling, and with longing for the good ole days. There is only so much Steve Dahl, Garry Meier, Johnny B, and Eddie & Jobo to go around. I actually think in the last few years many more old timers have been given new opportunities. Some of it squandered. Eddie & Jobo phoned in their show for almost 2 years. If we're ever to create another Eddie & Jobo or Johnny B, we're going to have to give "outsiders" a chance to cut their chops and get established here. Giving them shit for their first couple shitty shows is fine, but give them a chance. Radio isn't working right now. Stations are trying their best to make due with smaller and smaller budgets and a smaller and smaller talent pool apparently acceptable for the elites like Rob Feder.
