A 30-year Chicago tradition ended when classical WFMT-FM (98.7) chose not to broadcast the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra concert accompanying the July 3 lakefront fireworks display.

The Window to the World Communications station failed to secure sponsorship to cover the musicians' broadcast fee.
