"Remembering Wally," a CD compilation of Wally Phillips' funniest and most memorable bits, will be released later this month by Tribune Co.-owned news/talk WGN-AM (720).
Phillips, who was WGN's top-rated morning personality for decades, died last March after battling Alzheimer's.
To unveil the CD, WGN will host a remote broadcast from 9 a.m. to noon July 20 at Cantigny in Wheaton, featuring Spike O'Dell, Kathy O'Malley, Judy Markey, John Williams, Steve Cochran and David Kaplan. Dean Richards will emcee.
Including a note from Phillips' longtime producer, Marilyn Miller, the CD will sell for $10. Proceeds benefit the Neediest Kids Fund, the charity Phillips established in 1969.
