Rocker John Mellencamp performs a free "mini-concert" in Chicago's Daley Center Plaza at 6 a.m. Monday for broadcast on CBS' "The Early Show."

Anchor Harry Smith will be on hand to host the event, along with Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker and meteorologist Ed Curran of CBS-owned WBBM-Channel 2's morning news.
