Good to see the government cracking down on THIS *MAJOR* problem!
The Federal Communications Commission has slapped NBC-owned WMAQ-Channel 5 with a $10,000 fine for dropping the ball on a requirement to air a public service announcement.
The station was cited for a technicality -- failing to publicize the existence and location of its quarterly reports on children's programming. The FCC requires the files to be available for public inspection.
Channel 5 officials said the problem has been rectified.
