Ezequiel "Cheque" Gonzalez, the first midday personality when WLEY-FM (107.9) signed on as a regional Mexican station 10 years ago, has returned to "La Ley" as program director.
As of Monday, he succeeded Marylu Ramos, who was forced out last September in a management shakeup at the Spanish Broadcasting System station.
Gonzalez, who was born in Mexico and previously worked in Los Angeles, most recently headed programming for a five-station Spanish cluster owned by Liberman Broadcasting in Houston. He also handled regional programming responsibilities.
