Your best bet is to put a resume together with a creative but professional cover letter outlining your passions and describing your situation. Send it to promotions directors for every station in town. You'll probably get a few interviews. If you don't hear back from people follow up with a phone call and email, as market 3 can get pretty busy.
Expect to have very little fun for the most part, unless you "show" something special that gets grabbed onto. Good luck! Absorb everything you can.
: Hi
: I am moving to Chicago from Iowa (parents got better jobs). I will be finishing up my last 2 years at NIU for communications. Any suggestions on who I can contact for radio internships that might actually lead somewhere? I know I could just wait until I enroll and meet with an advisor but I want to have a plan in my head first.
