CBS 2 News won't cover the Olympics

No doubt it's killing Jay Levine to see rivals Phil Rogers of NBC-owned WMAQ-Channel 5 and Ben Bradley of ABC-owned WLS-Channel 7 reporting from Beijing this week, covering Mayor Daley's delegation to the Summer Olympics.

As chief correspondent for WBBM-Channel 2, Levine should have been all over the story. But the severe money squeeze at the CBS-owned station is keeping him here.

"We plan to use the CBS network feed to cover the Olympics," a spokeswoman said.
