Sirott joins Blackhawks radio team as studio host
Judd Sirott is returning to Chicago hockey.
Sirott, the former announcer for the Chicago Wolves, has been hired by the Chicago Blackhawks and WGN radio as the team's studio host for the 2008-09 season.
Before joining the new radio home of the Blackhawks, Sirott, a native of Arlington Heights and graduate of Buffalo Grove High School, called NHL games nationally for HDNet for the last two years. In his new job, he will supplement the live game coverage of John Wiedeman and Troy Murray.
"The Blackhawks are proud to welcome one of the premier hockey experts in the NHL," said Jay Blunk, senior vice president of Business Operations. "Judd will be helping to build the Blackhawks brand on the most powerful sports station in the country."
Sirott, 39, was the voice of the Chicago Wolves from the team's inception in 1994 to 2006, which included serving as the team's lead announcer for all television broadcasts.
"His National Hockey League experience and expertise, along with a lifetime of following the Blackhawks, make him the ideal choice to join John and Troy on our broadcasts," said WGN sports director Dave Eanet.
