They're finally planning a proper funeral for WCKG, the formerly prominent station that occupied the frequency at 105.9 FM from 1985 until its demise last month (when CBS Radio renamed it adult-contemporary "Fresh FM" WCFS).
Staffers who worked on and off the air there through various formats will assemble Jan. 17 at Alcock's, 411 S. Wells, to "raise a glass to the memory of a Chicago radio classic."
Tastefully, they're calling it "The WCKG Death Party."
So I guess this is a public invitation for any stalkers or crazies to show up. You'll just have to camp outside and wait.
