After a little under two years programming CBS Radio hot AC KIMN (Mix 100)/Denver, programming vet John Roberts has left the building as the cluster consolidates its PD positions into a single person -- Bill Gamble, who annexes PD duties for Mix and is also promoted to director of operations, with full programming and operations oversight of Mix and the two stations he was already running: country KWLI (92.5 the Wolf) and oldies KXKL (Kool 105).

Roberts has been PD of Mix since January 2007, when he came up from the corporate PD post at First Broadcasting. His programming resume is pretty extensive, with stops at KEGL/Dallas during its first run as "the Eagle," WEZB (B97) & WKZN/New Orleans, KHKS/Dallas and KHFI/Austin. He also served as VP of programming & ops for Clear Channel/Dallas. He can be reached for his next PD adventure at 214-392-6174 or ccjroberts@juno.com.

"I want to thank Dan Mason, [executive VP of operations] Scott Herman, [senior VP/Western region] Lisa Decker, [senior VP of programming] Greg Strassell and [senior VP/market manager] Don Howe for the opportunity to lead Mix 100's programming team," Roberts tells R&R. "I've enjoyed it a lot, and we've had some nice results during that time."

"Bill has proven himself to be more than capable to manage the overall programming strategies of our cluster including our Internet dept. His vision and passion, not for what radio is today but for what it needs to become tomorrow, is much needed in the industry today and we are fortunate to have Bill’s leadership here in Denver," Howe wrote in a memo to the staff.

"John has done an outstanding job of consistently putting Mix 100 in a very competitive position, and his efforts are much appreciated and certainly not overlooked. As with all change, while it is sometimes hard, it gives us the opportunity to redefine ourselves and to re-think our business plan. I am quite confident that this new structure will continue to elevate our stations relevance and position in the market."
