Sullivan New Head of Sales for CBS O&Os

James Sullivan has been named president of sales for CBS Television Stations. Sullivan, who currently is president of national sales for the station group, will continue to oversee that function, which handles spot sales for 29 CBS O&Os across the country.

"I'm very pleased to have Jim taking on these new responsibilities," said Tom Kane, president of the division. "He has done a superb job overseeing our national sales for more than two years, and he is the natural leader to take on this important role. He not only has the relationships with our clients, but also with our GMs and sales managers in the field. I look forward to working with him as we continue to find new ways to build revenue and create solutions for our clients using the power of local media."

Before his post of president of national sales, Sullivan worked for four years as vice president and director of sales for CBS's WBBM Chicago. Previously, Sullivan was vice president and group sales manager of CBS Spot Sales, which handled national sales for 11 CBS-owned stations before the merger with the Viacom-owned outlets.

Before that, he was vice president, director of sales for the national rep firm Petry, where he handled 15 major markets, including San Francisco and Denver. He also served as a group sales manager and account executive with Petry.

Sullivan earned his bachelor's and MBA from St. John's University.
