Former Entravision alternative KDLD & KDLE (Indie 103.1)/Los Angeles station manager Dawn Girocco, who exited last week, is the latest radio executive to cross over to Sam Zell's Tribune. Girocco has been hired as senior VP of advertising for the Los Angeles Times.
In an internal e-mail posted on laobserved.com, newly installed Times executive VP and chief revenue officer Scott McKibben said, "Dawn is a pro at developing idea-based, customer focused sales strategies that drive revenue on all levels. The Los Angeles Times Media Group portfolio is growing and represents all platforms. As such, Dawn will be tapping into everything we do and developing the most attractive packages in the market for L.A. advertisers."
Girocco had been with Indie 103.1 since 2005. Prior to that she was sales manager of Clear Channel's KIIS & KHHT (Hot 92 Jamz)/Los Angeles. Her resume also includes a stop at KKBQ/Houston where she started as an account executive and rose to general sales manager.
