Former CBS correspondent Ike Pappas was best known for his live broadcast of the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Mr. Pappas also was a fixture in the Chicago bureau of CBS News during the late '60s and early '70s. He covered many of the biggest stories of the era.

Mr. Pappas, 75, died Sunday of congestive heart failure.
