Longtime Dallas personalities Pugs and Kelly are joining Cumulus rock KDBN (93-3 the Bone)/Dallas for afternoons. The pair, who left the midday show at crosstown CBS Radio talk KLLI (Live 105.3) in July, is replacing PD Gary Thompson, who is shifting to mornings while the station continues to search for a new morning show.
Thompson, who tells R&R the new show will be "a mix of compelling talk, callers and rock," adds, "I'm a longtime fan of Pugs and Kelly. They have a very rare chemistry and ability to connect with the audience. No other station in Dallas radio has a personality-intensive afternoon show, and I'm really looking forward to creating something totally unique on the Bone."
"I think the Bone's got it right when it comes to music, and Kelly and I are really exited about bringing something completely different to afternoon music radio," says Pugs.
P&K will be in place on Sept. 8.
