In the inaugural issue of Michigan Avenue magazine, Roe Conn, the afternoon star of Citadel Broadcasting news-talk WLS-AM (890), cites six media luminaries who most influenced his career.

They are the late talk show host Morton Downey Jr., soap opera entrepreneurs Lee Phillip Bell and the late Bill Bell, anchors Walter Jacobson and Ron Magers, and former sidekick Garry Meier.
