Jim Avila, senior law and justice correspondent for ABC News, was honored by the National Association of Hispanic Journalists as Broadcast Journalist of the Year.

Avila joined ABC in 2004 after 10 years at NBC. He previously was a reporter here at CBS-owned WBBM-Channel 2 and ABC-owned WLS-Channel 7.
