Sun-Times night life and society columnist Susanna Homan and WGN-Channel 9 noon anchor Tom Negovan got engaged over the Christmas holidays.

While the happy couple is understandably thrilled, that joy is tempered by the sad news of Trib columnist Terry Armour's death last Friday. In Negovan's words, ''We were introduced on [Armour's former] 'Stan and Terry' [radio] show. Needless to say, Terry hasn't left our thoughts much over the last few days. I owe him an awful lot.''

Knowing Terry, I'm sure he's smiling down on Susanna and Tom and totally tickled he had a hand in their romance.
