Salem eliminates the President/COO position, as a cost-cutting move
Eric Halvorson has already given up his daily responsibilities, about 15 months after the longtime board member took the President/Chief Operating Officer job to give co-founder Ed Atsinger more time to focus on long-range corporate matters. This morning's publication reports the apparent exit of Halvorson, as well as the situation with Salem stock - down near "break a buck" $1 territory. As for Halvorson, who's been a member of the board for about 20 years and had served in a fulltime capacity once before, Salem today says in an SEC filing that he'll "continue to serve as a member of the board", and that his duties "will be assumed by the company's existing management."
