AWJ-Chicago and the Ellen Stone Belic Institute for the Study of Women and Gender in the Arts and Media, Columbia College Chicago, co-present prominent local women journalists for a panel discussion on where women stand in Chicago newsrooms.
Top Chicago women journalists discuss the results of a new study released by the Association for Women Journalists-Chicago: “Where Women Stand: A survey of Newsroom staff in the Chicago region.”
The event is free and open to the public.
The AWJ-Chicago study, completed in partnership with Bradley University, gives a snapshot of where women stand in Chicago-area newsrooms. It was administered via online questionnaire and takes a hard look at Chicago-area woman journalists’ salaries, place in the newsroom, job satisfaction, and more.
The discussion will be recorded by CAN TV and Chicago Public Radio for Chicago Amplified.
Support from the study came from the Chicago Tribune Foundation and the Chicago Foundation for Women.
