Add another syndicated show to the board. How exciting.
Grammy Award-winning gospel music artist Donnie McClurkin began Monday as the newest host on Chicago's leading gospel music station.
Airing from 6 to 7 p.m. weekdays on Clear Channel Radio WGRB-AM (1390), McClurkin's syndicated show is heard in more than 40 cities nationwide.
Praising McClurkin as "well-respected and a mainstay in the gospel community," Sonya Blakey, program director of WGRB, said: "He has a great track record in other markets, and I'm quite sure he'll make a powerful impact on Inspiration 1390."
To accommodate the addition, the station's new daytime lineup will be: John Hannah from 5 to 10 a.m.; Effie Rolfe from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; legal expert Warren Ballentine from 2 to 3 p.m., and Blakey from 3 to 6 p.m., followed by McClurkin.
McClurkin made headlines when he performed at a concert in South Carolina for Barack Obama despite McClurkin's stand against homosexuality. He has called himself formerly gay.
Obama's campaign said the candidate "does not agree with McClurkin's views on gays."
