RAB Reports September Radio Revs Down 9%

Business in Radioland continued to slide downward in September and even off-air revenue was off by a percent when compared to September 2007. According to figures released Monday morning (Oct. 20) by the the Radio Advertising Bureau in New York, local revenues fell 10% year-to-year.

National revenue also slipped, but only by 7%. However, when combined, the total local and national revenue was a 9% drop off. The total revenue decline was 8% for all markets.

RAB spokeswoman Renee Cassis tells R&R that the group’s third quarter comprehensive report on radio revenues will be ready on or around Nov. 21.
