At which time people can say they were wrong about Bears quarterback Kyle Orton or any other misjudgment they might have made. As soon as Quick Hits can verify the Bears quarterback is not some guy in an Orton Halloween costume, the 'fessing-up preparations will begin. : • • Speaking of North, he and former/future broadcast partner Dan Jiggetts will make their first appearance together since announcing their Comcast SportsNet show, which begins in 2009. They will be attending Friday's ''Evening With the Stars'' at White Eagle Banquets & Restaurant in Niles to benefit the Gale Sayers Center. Information on the event is available at www.GaleSayersCenter.org. : • • Speaking of Sayers, the Bears Hall of Fame running back will be the guest Wednesday at ESPN Radio 1000's ''Lunch With a Legend'' program at Morton's, 65 E. OK, more specifically, viewers watching something other than the World Series. And for those outside of Chicago and Houston who thought the 2005 Fall Classic between the White Sox and Astros drew low ratings, you ain't seen nothin' yet. With plenty more nothin' yet to come. : • • If the Rams can beat the Dallas Cowboys, they might be capable of giving the Bears a game when they meet Nov. 23 in St. Louis. Whether that game is football is another matter. : • • So the Cubs gave Jim Hendry a contract extension through 2012. Meaning chances are good he will be around for the team's first World Series title since 1908. As a goalpost maybe? : The Houston Rockets center was honored Sunday with the city's other Olympians in a halftime ceremony at the Texans game against the Lions. : ''I have no understanding of football,'' Yao said.
