From what I can tell, at most stations, they actually have already adjusted their use of spoken calls/sweepers/IDs. That's why you hear a lot of dry segues on the music stations and shorter IDs on the talk stations.
For the old radio peeps, this is hard to hear.
Keep in mind there has to be SOME form of identification because while PPM measures differently and doesn't need recall, the listener's MIND does need recall. You still have to brand your station as a place to come back to.
