Emmis cancels quarterly calls

Don't expect to listen in on Emmis Communications' next quarterly results conference call on Jan. 9, 2009 with president and CEO Jeff Smulyan and other company officials, as the company has cancelled the call and others going forward.

Here is the note posted on Emmis' Web site announcing the decision:

"Emmis is discontinuing its conference call on quarterly earnings. A press release on the company's quarterly earnings is scheduled to be issued at 6 a.m. on Friday, January 9, with additional commentary and disclosures posted under the Investors tab of www.emmis.com.

"As always, investors are invited to contact Emmis with any follow-up questions."
