Alright, I gave him enough time to "warm up" -- I'm officially done with Lewis Lazare and the Chicago Sun-Times for media news. Phil Rosenthal officially has me.
This newsbyte proves how much of an amateur he is. Radio station interns have more inside knowledge. Graduates from Columbia and ICB are more informed.
Lazare has absolutely no idea what he's writing about. He's an outsider and it shows. Did he even sit down with Feder for 5 minutes before he packed his boxes and left?
: Go-go Gossett
: On Monday, Kevin Gossett began simultaneously hosting the afternoon drive show at adult contemporary WLIT-FM (93.9) in Chicago in addition to his ongoing show at similarly programmed KEZ-FM in Phoenix. In so doing, Gossett quickly had to learn how to masterfully juggle two different jobs at once.
: To hear WLIT Programming Director Tony Coles explain what Gossett does to earn his paycheck boggles the mind.
: When Gossett isn't on air live doing his show in his home city of Phoenix, he's busy recording six or so 15-second voice tracks -- tailored for the Chicago market -- that air every hour between 2 and 7 p.m. on WLIT.
: The task is made a bit easier for Gossett because he used to live in Chicago when he was on air at what is now known as WILV-FM (100.3) from 1998 to 2003.
: To help Gossett stay in touch with Chicago for his WLIT bits, Gossett is fed a steady diet of Chicagocentric news and weather.
