WGN-TV names Lyons to No. 2 news post

Jennifer Lyons, a 15-year WGN-Ch. 9 veteran, has been named the station's assistant news director.

Lyons has been executive producer of Channel 9's morning news program since late last year. She had spent a little more than four years before that as executive producer of its midday newscast.

A search has begun for a new morning show producer.

Chicago Tribune parent Tribune Co. owns WGN.
