So, John Williams takes over on Monday morning. Generally am looking forward to the show. However, is it me or is their "traffic and weather every 10 minutes on the 7's" completely fragmenting their morning and afternoon drive times?!? The change was done, what, about a year ago or so? So many of the segments seem rushed and compacted. Often times I feel sorry for the various guests that are part of these segments. They'll be in the middle of something and then time to stop... sometimes will pick up and continue and sometimes not. In either case, it's not good to listen to.

Yes, WGN is about news, but WGN is not a "news" station (like WBBM). Isn't traffic and weather 4 times an hour enough? Traffic and weather every 10 minutes works better on WBBM. WGN is "full service" and fairly unique! Keep it that way! Don't be like the other station just down the dial... be different! If people want more frequent traffic reports they know where to go, if people want personality/talk, etc. they know where to go! Yes, yes, I know they don't want you to change the station, but you know what I am trying to say here.

Maybe it's just me overreacting? Anyone else frustrated by drive time WGN programming? I'm not 100%, but doesn't WLS only have traffic and weather near the top and bottom of each hour even in AM and PM drive times? WLS is all about news, but they are not a "news" station.
