Rumors a float that News Corp. is preparing a huge round of layoffs (firings) and cutbacks (budget) right after the New Year.

Chicago is among the markets expected to be hit hard which includes WFLD-TV/Fox32. Perhaps this was forewarned by the announced "LNS" partnership between NBC5 & WFLD.
