WFLD-TV picks Chris Sowers for weekend weather

Chris Sowers, formerly chief meteorologist for MyWeatherLive.com, has been named the new weekend weathercaster for Fox-owned WFLD-Ch. 32.

Sowers previously worked at WHP-TV in Harrisburg, Pa., WNKY-TV in Bowling Green, Ky., and began his career as a producer for five years at Philadelphia's WPVI-TV.

"We're pleased to welcome Chris," WFLD boss Pat Mullen said in a statement. "His extensive experience with severe weather forecasting will be an asset."

Channel 32's weather department has been down a person since Tammie Souza left this fall for WTSP-TV in Florida.
